Buffalo Linkstation Install Optware Qpkg. Comments on: HITB Buffalo Linkstation Pro Duo – Part 1. However, most of the time you can only install pre-compiled optware package. Installing Optware, SickBeard, CouchPotato, and NZBGet on Buffalo Linkstation LS-VL **Please note that this guide focuses on a Buffalo Linkstation NAS, specifically. This is the first published custom firmware. Main differences compared to the original Buffalo Linkstation v1.68: Plex Media Server v0.9.9 integrated; Advanced Power Management for hard drives on the admin interface; A small fix for the iTunes enable/disable button on the admin interface; Orca is the main developer of the Plex Samsung TV application.
I also (successfully) installed SC on my LS Pro and want to use it with Squeezebox Boom. However, the Boom has exactly the same error messages. If I run the Boom with SC 7.3.1 (on a full PC), everything is fine. The Boom indicates firmware = 41. I understand firmware on the Boom is a function of the SC version, thus 7.2 should want a new version of firmware for Boom. My hypothesis is that 1)the LS Pro can't access the Internet or 2) the Boom cannot see the LS Pro on the network: In response to #1 - I reconfigured my router firewall to pass through all codes from the Internet to the static adress of the LS Pro. My PC has no problems here, I add.
I have read that SC 7.2 may need be be tweaked (line 48??) or a plug-in added?? From my position, this is not a Duet issue. (This is a very slick conversion process - by the way.). Optware squeezecenter ipk has been updated to 7.3.1 This has fixed the 'missing firmware' error on my squeezebox (I may have used 'rsync -av /home/slimserver/cache/.bin /home/slimserver/cache/.version /opt/share/squeezecenter/Firmware/' command, don't know if that's absolutely necessary or not). The same procedure can be used on other devices that optware supports (such as HP mediavault2, MSS II, Synoloy, and QNAP NAS).
You can even install optware/cs08q1armel on debian lenny armel. Cheers, -Brian Zhou (optware feed manager) P.S.
Optware need some help, please see. Hello, I am trying to install on my Linkstation Live DH320GL and I am having a problem, I hope you can help me solve: First, I notice that in the latest firmware package two of the three files needed for installing JTYMOD have changed names.
I have solved that by renaming the file references in 'linkstationversion.txt' to the required uImage.buffalo, initrd.img and hddrootfs.img. I assume that is ok(?). Next, I have had the problem that the installer says it cannot find any Linkstation to upgrade. After playing around with the dates and version numbers, I decided to try to change version check=0 back to =1.
That seems to have solved that problem. Now the installation starts running. However, after everything apparently has been uploaded to the Linkstation I get the following error mesasage from LSupdater: HS-DHGL3C9 returns an error (ACPSTATEFAILURE).
Updating is aborted. I have tried a couple of times with the same result. Does anyone have an idea how I solve this issue? Best regards, VRN.

I don't think that should affect anything other than the edits to the linkstationversion.txt file. Perhaps you can try changing the names of the JTYMOD files to match the names in the.txt file instead. Also, are you certain that the JTYMOD firmware isn't actually loaded (despite the error message)? If nothing else works, you could try the prior Buffalo firmware version, which should be available here.
That one is the same as the version I installed on my own LinkStation Live HS-DH1000GL and was used to create the instructions in this thread. Tiredlegs, First, your instructions have helped me considerably. So I want to thank you.
I wouldn't have been able to get it done without them. I do have a problem though. It seems that I was able to install successfully - when I click link it starts up perfectly. The only problem I'm having is the Sqcenter won't read my music files.
When I press the setting link and click browse to browse my music files, I get the below list of folders. I select share but it never finds any files. I will admit that the linkstation wasn't empty and had data on it when I started the install. Do you know what the issue could be?
Thanks Please select a folder bin boot dev etc home lib mnt modules opt proc sbin share tmp usr var www. The only problem I'm having is the Sqcenter won't read my music files.

If you created a shared volume named 'Music' from the JTYMOD firmware (as described in Step 2 of the instructions), it should appear there, i.e. The path to the folder will be /mnt/disk1/Music. I want to thank TiredLegs for his excellent, concise instructions. I bought a Linkstation Pro a little over a year ago with the specific intention of running SC on it but never managed to get around to actually installing the software.
After reading through his instructions, I gave it a shot last night. I had already installed JTYMOD which shortened the process (and reduced my anxiety) quite a bit. Anyway, within about 20 minutes, SC was up and cataloging my music library. An hour or so later, everything was done and humming along quite nicely. Kudos, TiredLegs!
